    LifeWay Ridgecrest Conference Center (Ridgecrest, N.C.) is looking for qualified candidates to fill the position of Carpenter. This individual will be responsible for constructing and maintaining facilities that meet current building codes and other requirements. This is a full-time salary position with benefits.

    Responsibilities

    • Performs interior and exterior repairs to building structures
    • Performs new construction and renovation work
    • Reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations regarding construction and structural integrity of facilities
    • Responsible for completing projects/assignments within established budget and time parameters
    • Performs repairs to furniture

    Note – Other job duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    Required Skills:

    • Ability to read and understand schematics and blue print drawings
    • Carpentry and construction skills required  
    • Knowledge of current commercial building code regulations required
    • Must work well in a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and clients

     

    Required Experience:

    • High School diploma or GED required
    • 2 years experience carpentry required
    • Experience commercial construction or general contracting preferred
    • Must have a valid North Carolina Driver's License with good driving record. Able to work outdoors in variable climates. Must have ability to lift 70 lbs; repetitively lift up to 50 lbs with a range from a floor level to above shoulder height walking and standing on concrete floors for a period of up to two hours; free range of motion including twisting, bending, stooping, including climbing on step ladders. Must possess ability to use hand and power tools, normal vision, hearing and sense of smell.
